Artificial intelligence (AI) is here to stay and it’s already reshaping the workforce in real time. So I asked ChatGPT a simple question: “Which jobs won’t exist in 10 years?”
The results are honestly exactly what you’d expect based on what AI can do and what tasks are performed at each job. If you’re in one of these roles, you might want to think about finding another career in the not-so-distant future.

Data Entry Clerks -
Mean salary: $40,130
Data entry is a job that is probably first on the chopping block due to AI. With the latest AI-powered automation tools now processing and organizing data faster than humans, data entry jobs are quickly becoming obsolete. Plus, AI makes fewer errors during data entry and can perform a task that used to take hours in just a few seconds.

Mean salary: $36,680
Telemarketers and cold-calling sales is a tough job, but until recently, this was all done by humans. Plus, most consumers are now wary of unsolicited calls, so telemarketing is already a somewhat dying industry.

You’ve probably already seen self-checkout kiosks at your local grocery store, but AI might replace all cashiers in the coming decade. With the ability to answer questions, solve problems and process payments, cashiers are going to be less and less common at many retailers.
Travel Agents -

Travel agents can help you find deals that no one else has access to, but AI has made finding travel deals infinitely easier. Many online booking platforms and AI trip planners already allow consumers to build custom itineraries instantly and can often find better deals than travel agents.
Bank Tellers -
Mean salary: $38,850
In-person banking is dying and bank tellers are going to be less and less common with the rise of AI. Consumers already use mobile banking apps and ATMs for most transactions and physical bank branch traffic continues to decline. Virtual bank tellers will be AI-powered and be able to handle most every banking situation in the near future.
Warehouse Pickers and Packers -
Mean salary: $37,680
While the rise of Amazon and other large online retailers has given way to the growth of warehouse pickers and packers, robotics and AI-driven logistics systems are rapidly reducing the need for manual labor in fulfillment centers. Robots can pick, pack and even ship most items in warehouses, with minimal human intervention needed.

Writing perfect articles, advertising copy and even corporate emails has become commonplace with AI. There are now AI writing assistants that can detect grammar, tone and clarity issues in real time and edit a written piece in a fraction of the time of a human editor.
