- Jack Schlossberg said that his mother Caroline Kennedy laughed at a clip from *Love Story*, which dramatizes his family.

- "It's not surprising that people, once they remember who he was, want to dress like him and be like him," Schlossberg said about his late uncle JFK Jr.

Jack Schlossberg has more thoughts about *Love Story* now that the show has ended.

The grandson of President John F. Kennedy, who is running for Manhattan's 12th Congressional District, spoke to Katie Couric on her podcast *Next Question* about *Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette*. Schlossberg has been open about his criticism of the series, which dramatizes his late uncle and wife's relationship. However, he didn't have issues with viewers enjoying the show.

"I want to be clear that [I have] no problem with anyone who liked the show or watched it. I'm glad my uncle John was so cool. It's not surprising that people, once they remember who he was, want to dress like him and be like him," Schlossberg said.

"He was awesome. He was a smart, attractive person who cared about politics and tried to tried to blend politics and media in his time, just like I'm trying to do right now with social media and politics and our campaign," Schlossberg continued. "So, no issue with anyone who liked the show and watched it."

However, Schlossberg expressed concern with "serious problems facing our country" and the sensationalization of his family without their work as public servants being noted.

"We're not just celebrities. We're not just icons. These are public servants. My grandfather, you know, it's easy to remember my grandfather, my grandmother, my uncle who were very glamorous people as just celebrities like people today, but they were public servants," he explained. "My uncle John did a lot to try to advance the causes of progress in his time, civil rights. He worked at the DA's office. He was a very serious person."

"To fictionalize and to sensationalize his romantic life without giving any credence to the serious things that he did and to recognize that anyone who is not trying to do something about getting rid of Donald Trump is part of the problem," concluded Schlossberg. "I'll leave it at that."

When asked if he watched the show, Schlossberg said he showed his mother Caroline Kennedy a clip that featured her dramatized on the show, portrayed by Grace Gummer.

"I showed her a clip of of her and we were laughing so hard," he revealed. Though he couldn't remember which clip, he said "the person was freaking out and we're just laughing so hard as if that that's how my mom acts. People [need to] keep in mind it might be entertaining, but it's fiction."

He also poked fun about how his father, Edwin Schlossberg (played by Ben Shenkman) was portrayed. "They had my dad dressed up in some plaid outfit. My dad's the most stylish guy I've ever met, so it's funny."

"The two the two nicest, most dignified, private people in the whole world who do nothing but help others," Schlossberg said of his parents. When asked if it was frustrating seeing his parents on the show not portrayed in a "very positive way," Schlossberg quipped, "Whatever. Who cares. Stupid show."

In March, Schlossberg called the series a "grotesque display" during an appearance on *CBS Sunday Morning*. "I would just want people who do watch the show to watch it with one letter in mind, and that's a capital F for fiction. [Ryan Murphy] knows nothing about what he's talking about, and he's making a ton of money on a grotesque display of someone else's life."

"I would hope that Mr. Murphy would donate some of the millions of dollars of profits that he's making to some of the causes that John championed throughout his life," Schlossberg continued. "Maybe he would donate some of that money to the JFK library to help keep President Kennedy's memory alive, but he's not. He's making money. This is not a documentary."

JFK Jr. and Carolyn wed in September 1996. They died in July 1999 in a plane crash off the coast of Martha's Vineyard, along with Carolyn's sister Lauren Bessette.
