Their dog Kuma has adjusted well to the new baby, with Theroux describing her as gentle and perfect in her new role
Justin Theroux is loving his role as a new dad.
The 54-year-old Running Point star visited Today on Thursday, April 23, with his beloved dog, Kuma, noting that she is no longer an only “child” now after he and wife Nicole Brydon Bloom welcomed a baby boy earlier this month.
“It's so hard to sum that up, but I just love looking into his eyeballs,” Theroux raved of his newborn son. “It's just beautiful, it's just a wonderful thing. We're in that period now where it's just, of course, quiet, a lot of tiptoeing around the house, beautiful, occasional crying. Yeah, it's wonderful.”
On the 3rd Hour of Today, Theroux said that Bloom is currently “doing the Herculean task of feeding” their son.
“It's so much better [than I imagined],” Theroux shared of fatherhood. “And, of course, I've been told by other fathers, ‘Wait ‘til you see this child. You're gonna fall in love.' And you still always have that little moment of, ‘Is that really going to happen?' and the minute he appears, your whole life just starts to revolve around this thing, and your heart just opens up in a beautiful way. So I'm really happy, really happy.”

As for how Kuma has taken to her role as “big sister,” Theroux says his pup is a natural.
“Perfect, really perfect. Gentle. Her energy is great,” he said of the rescue dog. “Kuma goes everywhere.”

He added that Kuma hasn't had any jealousy issues with his baby boy's new arrival.
Theroux and Bloom haven't shared many details regarding their son's birth. On April 18, the couple posted a joint Instagram photo of a shirtless Theroux cuddling with his baby boy.

“He's here 🕊️ we are so in love,” they captioned the sweet post.

Two days later, Bloom stepped out with Theroux at the New York premiere of his new film, The Devil Wears Prada 2.
At the premiere, Theroux told PEOPLE that the best part of becoming a dad was "being able to pour all the love that I have into my son."
The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits theaters on May 1.
